Nespresso engages consumers at gourmet food festival in four Australian cities

Australia

Gourmet food enthusiasts and coffee lovers throughout Australia are discovering new coffee moments with Nespresso at the annual Good Food & Wine Show, one of Australia’s largest food and wine festivals held this year in Melbourne (30 May –1 June), Sydney (27 June – 29 June), Perth (11-13 July) and Brisbane (17-19 October).

Around 110,000 food enthusiasts travel from far and wide to the multi-city show to discover new culinary delights, meet their favourite celebrity chefs and attend food and wine workshops and master classes.

This year, in addition to an exhibitionl booth showcasing the full range of Nespresso machines and Grand Cru coffees, Nespresso has introduced a new gourmet master class concept: the “Your Nespresso Moment” Discovery Session. The interactive sessions are hosted by renowned Australian chef Justine Schofield, and guide participants in creating unique Nespresso coffee moments.

Nespresso Discovery Sessions at the Good Food & Wine Show in Australia guide coffee lovers in creating sweet and savoury tasting experiences with the new Fortissio LungoBukeela ka EthiopiaDharkan and Decaffeinato Intenso.

Justine Schofield, host of Australian television show “Everyday Gourmet”, worked closely with Nespresso to create recipes illustrating to consumers how Nespresso coffees can fit into their lives at three different moments of the day: the morning, the afternoon and the evening.

In these interactive sessions, Schofield demonstrates the versatility of Nespresso Grands Crus with a series of sweet and savoury treats created using Nespresso coffee and paired with a Nespresso coffee beverage to create a holistic coffee moment. Participants are guided in preparing these recipes and coffee moments using the latest Nespresso machine innovation, Inissia.

By using sensory techniques drawn from the world of winemaking, guests are encouraged to appreciate the different notes, body and texture and the diversity of the Nespresso Grands Crus range when paired with different foods and ingredients.

Three recipes highlight recent additions to the Nespresso Grands Crus range

Highlighting four of Nespresso’s 22 Grands Crus from its Pure Origin, Intenso, Lungo and Decaffeinato ranges, the recipes include a Fruit and Nut Coffee Museli breakfast trifle featuring the new Fortissio Lungo; a Caramelised Balsamic & Coffee Onions Tartlet with Whipped Goats Cheese featuring Bukeela ka Ethiopia and Dharkan ; and a Cardamon Affogato with Hazelnut Brittle featuring Decaffeinato Intenso.

This summer, Nespresso re-released the Fortissio Lungo Grand Cru with a remastered recipe for a richer, more full-bodied long coffee experience. Moving Fortissio Lungo up one notch to 8 on the coffee intensity scale, Nespresso coffee experts split-roasted a blend of Monsooned Malabar Arabica and Latin American Arabicas to achieve boldness and complexity without moving to a darker roast. The Fortissio Lungo Grand Cru has an exquisite fullness on the palate. With a dash of milk and as a Latte it becomes a sublimely intense coffee and milk experience.

Australia: a nation of coffee connoisseurs

“Australia is now a nation of coffee connoisseurs, and the popularity of capsule coffee machines is rapidly growing,” noted John Ciaglia, Nespresso Commercial Manager in Australia.

“We’re now seeing coffee lovers exploring new ways to enjoy their coffee, whether it is a morning pick-me-up or an evening dessert. The Good Food & Wine Show is the perfect opportunity to inspire and educate consumers on how to get the most from their Nespresso machine to enjoy more coffee moments throughout the day.”
